Job summary

BigBasket is seeking a DC Manager to lead end-to-end distribution center operations across inbound, outbound, and inventory management. You will drive accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and TI/TO monitoring, while optimizing layouts for storage efficiency and supervising up to 100 warehouse staff.

You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and enhanced service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment center or distribution center operations, preferably in e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or logistics.
• Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, stock reconciliation, warehouse processes, and order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end DC operations: inbound, outbound, inventory, and logistics.
• Ensure accurate inventory through cycle counts, stock audits, reconciliations, and TI/TO monitoring.
• Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, damages, expiry, shrinkage, and pilferage; drive corrective actions.
• Maintain warehouse layouts and planograms to optimize storage and efficiency.
• Lead a large warehouse workforce (up to 100) including manpower planning, shifts, performance, onboarding.
• Conduct staff interviews, training, and continuous skill development.
• Drive inventory accuracy and ensure SOP compliance, audits, and safety standards.
• Prepare and present MIS reports, dashboards, and operational reviews for leadership.
• Monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, productivity, and service levels.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, and other teams to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end distribution center operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory, and logistics.
• Ensure accurate inventory through regular cycle counts, stock audits, reconciliations, and Transfer In/Transfer Out (TI/TO) monitoring.
• Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, damages, expiries, shrinkage, and pilferage while driving corrective actions.
• Maintain warehouse layouts and planograms to optimize storage utilization and operational efficiency.
• Lead, coach, and manage a large warehouse workforce (up to 100 employees), including manpower planning, shift scheduling, performance management, and onboarding.
• Conduct staff interviews, training sessions, and continuous skill development programs.
• Drive inventory accuracy and ensure compliance with warehouse SOPs, audit requirements, and safety standards.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports, dashboards, and operational reviews for leadership.
• Monitor key warehouse KPIs, including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, productivity, stock loss, and service levels.
• Conduct internal audits, fraud assessments, and compliance reviews while implementing preventive controls.
• Maintain accurate asset records, perform reconciliations, and ensure periodic verification.
• Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment center, or distribution center operations, preferably in e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or logistics.
• Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, stock reconciliation, warehouse processes, and order fulfillment.
• Proven experience leading large warehouse teams and managing shift-based operations.
• Excellent analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in MIS reporting, KPI monitoring, audits, compliance, and inventory control.
• Good understanding of warehouse safety, loss prevention, and operational best practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
