Job summary

NEC Software Solutions in Pune district, Maharashtra, is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to maintain and optimize multiple database environments. The role emphasizes strong SQL skills, Azure SQL responsibilities, and collaboration with application teams.

You will manage security, user access, and incident resolution while implementing HA/DR and monitoring using Azure tools. The position requires 3–5 years of hands-on DBA experience and a B.Tech/MCA or equivalent qualification.

• 3-5 years of hands-on Database Administration experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance.
• Proficient in SQL Query Writing (SQL, T-SQL, MySQL SQL, PostgreSQL SQL).
• Query Performance Tuning and Index Optimization; Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers.
• Database Security, User Management, Monitoring, and Troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database environments.
• Ensure database availability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Tune queries, indexes, and database objects to improve application performance.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and resolve blocking, deadlocks, and long-running queries.

Job Description

You will be responsible for:-

• Monitor and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database environments.

• Ensure database availability, performance, reliability, and security.

• Perform database performance tuning and optimize SQL queries, indexes, stored procedures, and database objects to improve application performance.

• Troubleshoot database-related incidents and ensure timely resolution.

• Support application teams in resolving database performance and connectivity issues.

• Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access requests.

• Implement and maintain database security standards and compliance requirements.

• Investigate and resolve blocking, deadlocks, long-running queries, and locking issues.

• Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.

• Support application and development teams in resolving database-related issues and performance concerns.

• Implement and manage Azure SQL High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions, including Failover Groups (FOG), Geo-Replication, Backup & Recovery,

and performance monitoring across Azure SQL environments.

Required Technical Skills: -

• B. Tech/MCA or equivalent qualification.

• 3-5 years of hands‑on Database Administration experience.

• Strong experience with:
