Job summary

NEC Software Solutions India is seeking a Database Administrator in Pune to monitor and manage Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database environments. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance for enterprise applications.

The role requires 3–5 years of DBA experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with Azure monitoring. Knowledge of Java is a plus, with opportunities to grow in a global IT services firm.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on Database Administration experience.
• Strong experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance.
• Proficient SQL writing (MS T‑SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query tuning.
• Experience with Azure monitoring and HA/DR setups (FOG, Geo-Replication).
• Familiarity with Java is a plus.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL databases.
• Ensure availability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Tune performance, optimize queries, indexes, stored procedures, and DB objects.
• Troubleshoot incidents and resolve issues.
• Support application teams with performance and connectivity.
• Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access requests.
• Implement and maintain security standards and compliance.
• Investigate blocking, deadlocks, long-running queries.
• Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Implement and manage Azure SQL HA/DR, including Failover Groups and Geo-Replication, and monitor Azure SQL environments.

Job Description

You will be responsible for:-

• Monitor and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database environments.
• Ensure database availability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimize SQL queries, indexes, stored procedures, and database objects to improve application performance.
• Troubleshoot database-related incidents and ensure timely resolution.
• Support application teams in resolving database performance and connectivity issues.
• Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access requests.
• Implement and maintain database security standards and compliance requirements.
• Investigate and resolve blocking, deadlocks, long-running queries, and locking issues.
• Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Support application and development teams in resolving database-related issues and performance concerns.
• Implement and manage Azure SQL High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions, including Failover Groups (FOG), Geo-Replication, Backup & Recovery,

and performance monitoring across Azure SQL environments.
