Job summary

Siemens Gamesa is seeking a Data Specialist Engineer to design and maintain audit trails, data logging strategies, and scalable Azure-based data solutions.

You will partner with backend engineers to build robust database structures, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity across the application lifecycle, supporting Agile delivery and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Development, or SQL-focused roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases; Azure SQL Database preferred.
• Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, indexing, query optimization, performance tuning, and data integrity.
• Experience developing and maintaining SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data analysis, troubleshooting, and data correction.
• Ability to investigate complex data issues, perform root cause analysis, and support app teams with DB solutions.
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure technologies such as Azure SQL Database and ADLS; familiar with Azure DevOps and CI/CD.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and collaboration across Product, Engineering, and QA teams.
• Interest in automation and agentic AI solutions to improve operational efficiency.

• Design, develop, and maintain the database layer for a cloud-based application running on Azure.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to ensure performance and data integrity.
• Investigate and resolve data-related issues through data analysis and root cause identification.
• Manage Azure SQL Database environments, including schema updates, deployments, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to Agile delivery processes and CI/CD deployments using Azure DevOps with cross-functional teams.
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI-driven automation, to improve operational efficiency.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Development, or SQL-focused engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases; experience with Azure SQL Database is preferred.
• Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, indexing, query optimization, performance tuning, and data integrity principles.
• Experience developing and maintaining SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data analysis, troubleshooting, and data correction.
• Ability to investigate complex data issues, perform root cause analysis, and support application development teams with effective database solutions.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and services, with exposure to Azure technologies such as Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) preferred. Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating across Product, Engineering, and QA teams.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, capable of independently driving tasks to completion and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Interest in exploring emerging technologies, automation, and agentic AI solutions that can improve operational efficiency and support evolving enterprise application needs.
