Job summary

DSV Global Business Services in Hyderabad, India is seeking a Data Migration Manager to lead end-to-end SAP data migration initiatives during S/4HANA transformations and rollouts. You will own strategy, planning, and execution for critical financial data including GL, AP, AR, and asset data.

The role requires 10–12 years in large-scale data migration with a focus on Finance Transformation and 5+ years in SAP S/4HANA data migration leadership, across global multi-country deployments.

Job description

You will be joining the Finance Transformation Deliver Centre, which is a global deliver centre for Finance Transformation.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Data Migration Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end data migration activities including strategy, planning, and execution of financial transactional data migration during SAP S/4HANA transformations & rollouts and must ensure accurate, timely, compliant, and audit-ready migration of critical financial data including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Controlling data from legacy systems into SAP, aligning with business requirements and project timelines.

Program & Delivery Management

• Lead end-to-end SAP data migration strategy, planning and execution
• Develop comprehensive data migration plans aligned with the overall program roadmap
• Delivery ownership of data migration workstreams across all phases (Plan, Design, Build, Test and Deploy)
• Ability to effectively manage timelines, risks, dependencies, and budgets
• Ability to plan and allocate data migration resources across multiple concurrent country rollouts
• Coordinate effectively with program leadership, PMO, and stakeholders

Data Migration Strategy & Execution

• Define and implement the overall data migration strategy, methodology, and standards for master and transactional data
• Define the migration approach: methodology, migration waves, mock cycle approach, quality review process, and success criteria
• Ensure oversight into critical data migration activities including:
  • Data extraction from legacy systems
  • Data cleansing, validation, and transformation
  • Data loading using tools like SAP Migration Cockpit, LTMOM, LVM, ETL tools
  • Data reconciliation at object level also with the group systems
• Define the data migration governance framework: RACI, decision forums, sign-off requirements, escalation points, and reporting cadence
• Define the data quality framework and validation criteria: quality rules, reconciliation approach, acceptance thresholds, and ownership
• Ensure data migration activities comply with regulatory requirements, data privacy policies, and audit standards

Leadership & Team development

• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Data Migration Leads and Specialists
• Manage team performance and drive process optimization and efficiency initiatives within the data migration function

Stakeholder management and comms

• Communicate data migration progress, risks, issues, and reconciliation status to the Finance Delivery Center Manager and executive leadership
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across BCM, IT, GPO, country leads, and business process owners

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify migration risks early and implement mitigation plans
• Resolve data-related blockers during testing and cutover phases

Cutover

• Plan and execute cutover strategy for Mock and Production Data Migration
• Ensure successful Data Migration with minimal disruption

Key Experience

Fairly important-

• Strong Understanding of finance / record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay processes
• SAP Financial Expertise across SAP FI/CO modules (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, CO)
• Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA data migration
• Define financial data migration strategies (Extract/Transform/Load)
• Knowledge of SAP tables and data objects (FI, MM, SD, etc.) and Migration tools

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Business/Accounting or corresponding experience
• 10-12 years in large-scale data migration projects with focus on Finance Transformation projects
• 5+ years SAP S4HANA application experience in one/ or many of these areas: ERP implementations in SAP FI, SAP CO, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAPMDG
• 5+ years in data migration leadership, specifically financial data
• Proven ability to lead large teams
• Hands-on experience with data reconciliation techniques and tools
• Experience managing large-scale, global S/4HANA implementations and multi-country rollouts
• Strong program/project management expertise
• Excellent strategic planning, risk management, and problem-solving skills related to data
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities at an executive level
• Exposure to Source-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, or Order-to-Cash processes is an advantage
• Prior experience in transport and logistics sector is an advantage
