Job Description

We're looking for an experienced technology leader to guide our Data & Digital Asset Governance Technology team. You'll lead a team of engineers who use full-stack development, AI-assisted engineering practices, and the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform to create practical governance solutions for Macquarie Asset Management. Together, the team helps make data and other digital assets easier to find, understand, trust, and manage.

You'll play a key role in shaping how governance is enabled across Macquarie Asset Management, balancing innovation, user experience, risk management, and regulatory requirements. This is an opportunity to lead one of the organization's evolving technology capabilities while building a strong, AI-enabled, and engaged engineering team. You'll work closely with business teams, governance specialists, architects, risk and compliance partners, and platform engineers to turn complex governance needs into effective technology solutions. This is a broad leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys developing people, solving complex problems, and combining solution architecture with hands-on engineering.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 10–15 years of experience in Technology Engineering, Data Platforms, or Governance Technology, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale platforms and solutions.
• Governance Expertise: Strong understanding and expertise in Data Governance, Metadata Management, governance workflows, and governance technologies.
• Collibra (Mandatory): Hands-on experience architecting or building workflows in Collibra is mandatory and will be highly regarded.
• Technical Stack: Experience using modern software engineering practices, including full-stack development, AI-assisted development, and cloud technologies.
• Risk, Regulatory & Compliance: Strong understanding of risk, regulatory, and compliance-driven technology environments, alongside a track record of turning complex business and regulatory requirements into practical technology solutions.
• Problem Solving & Translation: Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across business, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
• Team Leadership: Experience building, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams in collaborative and fast-paced environments.
• Industry Preference: Background in Banking, Financial Services, or Asset Management strongly preferred.
• Candidate Profile: Stable career history required (candidates with frequent job changes will not be considered). Strong academic background from Tier-1 or Tier-2 institutes preferred.
• Soft Skills & Passion: Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills, paired with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and solving complex business problems.
