Job summary

Ascendion is hiring a Python Data Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines for large-scale analytics. You will work with Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and SQL in a remote setup, handling data lakes and cloud services across multiple regions.

You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers, ensure data quality and governance, and contribute to CI/CD and testing practices. The role emphasizes scalable data architectures and clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Expert Python data engineering using Pandas, NumPy, PySpark.
• Hands-on with large data systems and data lakes.
• Advanced SQL with CTEs and window functions; NoSQL experience (Mongo).
• Experience with major cloud providers and data services (Azure).
• Git, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines are required.
• Troubleshoot distributed data issues and optimize queries.
• Able to explain data architecture to non-technical stakeholders.

Python Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Python Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Python, including data-centric libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.
• Big Data Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with handling large data systems (Data Lake etc)
• Database Mastery: Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions) and experience with NoSQL systems (Mongo etc).
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with major cloud providers (Azure is must) and their data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Software Engineering Best Practices: Mastery of Git, unit testing (JUnit, Pytest), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, distributed data issues and optimize query performance.
• Communication: Ability to explain technical infrastructure and data lineage to non-technical stakeholders.
