Job summary

General Mills, Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and support data solutions on GCP. You will work on ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and big data technologies to deliver actionable insights for the enterprise.

The ideal candidate has 7–12+ years in data engineering, strong SQL, Python, and familiarity with BigQuery, dbt, and cloud functions. This role is based in Mumbai, India, with a focus on collaboration across a global team.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7–12+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on cloud data engineering with GCP preferred.
• Expert SQL, Python, and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of BigQuery, Composer, dbt, and cloud functions.
• Experience with ETL pipelines, job scheduling, and production support.
• Understanding of SAP landscape, data governance, and cybersecurity basics.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management.

OVERVIEW

The Enterprise Data Development team is responsible for designing & architecting solutions to integrate & transform business data into Data Warehouse to deliver data layer for the Enterprise using cutting edge cloud technologies like GCP. We design solutions to meet the expanding need for more and more internal/external information to be integrated with existing sources; research, implement and leverage new technologies to deliver more actionable insights to the enterprise. We integrate solutions that combine process, technology landscapes and business information from the core enterprise data sources that form our corporate information factory to provide end to end solutions for the business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design, build, and support GCP, ETL, and SQL solutions
• Support data warehouses and related scheduled jobs
• Analyze business requirements and improve process efficiency
• Partner with architects, solution managers, and analysts to deliver data solutions
• Work effectively across a distributed global team environment
• Manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and ambiguous situations
• Troubleshoot issues with users, IT teams, vendors, and service providers
• Lead small initiatives and contribute to enterprise project delivery

• Train team members, IT functions, and business users on solutions and tools

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• Experience : 7-12+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong hands-on experience in cloud data engineering, with GCP preferred
• Expert-level skills in SQL, Python, and Data Warehousing concepts
• Good working knowledge of BigQuery, Composer, dbt, and cloud functions
• Experience with ETL pipelines, job scheduling tools, and production support
• Understanding of SAP landscape, data governance tools, and cybersecurity basics
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• GCP Data Engineer certification, GCP certification
• Understanding of CPG industry
