Job summary

Sudlows Consulting is seeking a dedicated Structured Cabling Installer to support copper and fibre optic infrastructure on commercial and data centre projects across India. This hands-on role requires precision, adherence to standards, and a proactive approach to safety and documentation.

You will install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot cabling, work with trays, panels, and racks, and collaborate with site teams under supervision to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years in structured cabling installation.
• Knowledge of copper and fibre optic cabling types, terminations and best practices.
• Ability to use basic cabling tools, hand tools, testers, and fibre cleaning kits.
• Familiarity with TIA/EIA, ANSI, and BICSI standards.
• Physically fit for ladders, raised floors, or confined spaces.
• Willingness to travel to project locations within India.
• Team player with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a copper cabling and single-/multi-mode fibre.
• Perform cable pulling, routing, dressing, labelling, and patching to standards.
• Install cabling infrastructure including trays, conduits, patches, racks and cabinets.
• Follow drawings and layouts to execute tasks accurately.
• Test and certify cables using Fluke testers and OTDR tools.
• Assist with containment installation and data hall preparation.
• Maintain clean, safe workspaces and document all work and test results.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to support IT infrastructure needs.

Job Summary

We seek a dedicated and experienced Structured Cabling Installer to support the physical installation of copper and fibre optic cabling infrastructure across various commercial and data centre projects in India. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals who take pride in clean, precise installation work and understand the importance of structured cabling in high-performance network environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a copper cabling and single-mode/multi-mode fibre optic systems.
• Perform cable pulling, routing, dressing, labelling, and patching following company and industry standards.
• Install cabling infrastructure, including cable trays, conduits, raceways, patch panels, racks, and cabinets.
• Follow project drawings and layout plans to execute structured cabling tasks accurately.
• Conduct testing and certifying cables using Fluke testers and OTDR tools to verify performance.
• Assist with containment installation and data hall preparation, including mounting and grounding hardware.
• Maintain clean and organised workspaces in compliance with safety regulations.
• Work under the direction of a Site Supervisor or Project Manager to complete tasks on time and to specification.
• Document all completed work, including cable labelling and test results.
• Participate in quality control inspections and rectify any identified deficiencies.
• Maintain accurate records of cable infrastructure, including diagrams and labelling schemes.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to support network and IT infrastructure needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in structured cabling installation.
• Solid understanding of copper and fibre optic cabling types, termination standards, and installation best practices.
• Ability to use basic cabling tools, hand tools, testers, and fibre cleaning kits.
• Familiarity with TIA/EIA, ANSI, and BICSI installation standards.
• Physically fit and capable of working on ladders, raised floors, or confined spaces.
• Willingness to travel to different project locations within India.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Diploma or ITI certification in Electrical, Electronics, or a related field
• BICSI Installer 1 or equivalent structured cabling training.
• Prior experience working in data centres or high-density IT environments.
