Job summary

Sudlows Consulting seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead hyperscale data centre projects, driving end-to-end delivery of structured cabling and infrastructure. You will manage lifecycle phases, define scope, plan schedules, monitor risks, and ensure compliance and safety while maintaining strong relationships with strategic client accounts.

You will act as the key client interface, collaborate with sales and procurement, and guide on pricing differentiation and scope expansions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PMI delivery experience in structured cabling or data centre projects.
• Experience managing large-scale or hyperscale deployments.
• Knowledge of structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6a, fibre), containment, testing, and documentation.
• Excellent client-facing communication and enterprise client relationship skills.
• Familiarity with standard PM tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera).
• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects and safety/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface between the client and internal delivery teams for hyperscale data centre accounts.
• Identify opportunities for additional business within existing accounts and propose expansions.
• Support bid development, proposals, and contract negotiations with sales teams.
• Contribute to business development by leveraging industry contacts and client meetings.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver structured cabling projects from initiation to closeout.
• Manage scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, and resources.
• Supervise on-site teams to meet scope, safety, and quality standards.
• Review technical submittals, drawings, change requests, and commissioning docs.
• Monitor progress and provide updates to stakeholders and client reps.
• Coordinate with procurement and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Track KPIs and take corrective actions to stay aligned with goals.
• Resolve on-site issues with design consultants and client engineers.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Operations Manager to lead the successful delivery of data centre, structured cabling, and physical infrastructure projects within hyperscale data centre environments. In this role, you will manage end-to-end project lifecycles while maintaining a strong relationship with strategic client accounts. You will serve as the key point of contact for client stakeholders, ensuring all work meets performance expectations, compliance standards, and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface between the client and internal delivery teams for assigned hyperscale data centre accounts.


• Identify and pursue opportunities for additional business within existing accounts by understanding client needs and proposing suitable services or scope expansions.


• Collaborate with the sales and commercial teams to support bid development, proposal submissions, and contract negotiations.


• Contribute to business development efforts by leveraging industry contacts, attending client meetings, and helping to onboard new strategic accounts.


• Provide input on pricing, value-engineering, and service differentiators to strengthen commercial offerings and long-term client partnerships


• Plan, coordinate, and deliver structured cabling projects including copper and fibre optic infrastructure from initiation to closeout.


• Manage all project lifecycle phases, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, and resource allocation.


• Supervise on-site project execution teams to ensure adherence to scope, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.


• Review and approve technical submittals, drawings, change requests, and commissioning documentation.


• Monitor progress, conduct regular status reviews, and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and client representatives.


• Work closely with Procurement and Subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.


• Track project KPIs (cost, time, quality, compliance), and initiate corrective actions as needed to stay aligned with project goals.


• Coordinate with design consultants, main contractors, and client-side engineers to resolve on-site issues and technical queries.


• Ensure compliance with local regulations, client specifications, and global standards such as TIA/EIA, BICSI, and hyperscaler-specific guidelines.


• Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, schedules, RFI logs, and risk registers.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in structured cabling, data centre infrastructure, or related ICT delivery.


• Proven experience managing large-scale or hyperscale data centre deployments.


• In-depth knowledge of structured cabling systems (Cat6/Cat6a, single-mode/multi-mode fibre, MPO), containment, testing, and documentation.


• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with enterprise clients.


• Familiarity with common project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera, etc.).


• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure.


• Understanding local compliance requirements, health safety standards, and quality control practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.


• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.


• BICSI RCDD or equivalent structured cabling design certification.


• Experience delivering projects for hyperscale clients


• Experience working in a global or multi-national delivery environment
