Job summary

ADSIPL Telangana is seeking an Infra Technician to support AWS data center operations in Hyderabad. You will install and test copper and fiber cabling, prepare labels, and assist with network device readiness in a high-security, high-availability environment.

The role requires 1+ year of networking experience, a high school diploma, basic cabling knowledge, and the ability to work at heights and travel within the area. Strong teamwork and English communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.

• Perform basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Manage inventory of materials and deliveries daily.
• Follow escalation processes and SOPs.
• Work in noisy, hot/cold environments.
• Travel within geographical work area as required.
• Work at heights or on ladders as needed.
• Experience with a ticketing system.
• Occasional work in tight spaces under raised floors.

Key job responsibilities

• Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
• Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.
• Creating/attaching labels and barcodes
• Understanding of test equipment (power meter / light source, OTDR, VFL, Fluke, network analyser, copper / fiber cabling test equipment)
• Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Managing inventory of related materials by checking and coordinating all materials to be delivered to site daily
• Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
• Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
• Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
• Experience with a ticketing system
• Ability to travel within geographical work area is required. Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors

Basic Qualifications

• Diploma/Graduation in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of project management experience or operations planning experience
• 3+ years’ experience with physical network infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting
• 3+ years’ experience with network cabling (fiber optic & copper)
• English language communication ability
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and network cabling.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying excellent time management skills and the ability to follow direction.
• Able to work at heights or use ladders for continued periods
• Have strong attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Substantial background in large scale datacentre network implementations and support.
• Knowledge of Copper and Fiber Optic testing methodologies.
• Ability to read basic layout drawings and floorplans.
• Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CITY & GUILDS Cabling cert or equivalent).
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management).
