Job description

Data Center Material Associate, IT Services (Warehouse)

Job ID: 10585984 | ADCI - Maharashtra - D80

Amazon's IT Services (ITS) team is seeking a detail-oriented Data Center Material Associate, Warehouse (Reverse Logistics) to support the recovery, tracking, and lifecycle management of IT assets within our India operations. In this role, you will own the end-to-end reverse-logistics journey for IT equipment - ensuring that devices are retrieved, verified, and processed accurately as employees transition out of the organization.

You will act as the central coordination point between internal stakeholders, logistics partners, and asset-management systems to drive timely asset returns and maintain a high IT-clearance completion rate. The position combines operational execution, data accuracy, and strong communication, working within established policies and standard operating procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work with measurable outcomes. You will contribute directly to inventory accuracy, cost avoidance, and compliance goals while gaining exposure to large-scale operations, logistics coordination, and IT asset-management tooling. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing a steady volume of cases, following up persistently, and resolving discrepancies through collaboration.

Key job responsibilities

  • - Asset recovery coordination: Manage the day-to-day queue of reverse-logistics cases, ensuring IT assets are recovered promptly and tracked through each stage of the return process.
  • - Stakeholder communication: Send structured notifications and reminders to relevant stakeholders, follow up on pending returns, and respond to queries in a professional, timely manner.
  • - Logistics partner coordination: Work with third‑party logistics providers to schedule pickups, confirm shipments, and validate receipt of assets at designated locations.
  • - Data accuracy & tracking: Maintain accurate records of asset status, movements, and discrepancies using asset‑management and tracking tools; reconcile data to ensure inventory integrity.
  • - Discrepancy resolution: Identify and resolve mismatches, missing items, or tagging errors by collaborating with internal teams and following defined escalation paths.
  • - Clearance & compliance: Support IT‑clearance workflows and ensure processes adhere to organizational policies and audit requirements.
  • - Reporting: Prepare and share regular status updates and queue reports to provide visibility into operational performance and open items.
  • - Process improvement: Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to increase efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and improve the overall return experience.
  • - Documentation: Maintain clear, organized records to support traceability and knowledge continuity across the team.

A day in the life

On a typical day, you will review and prioritize the reverse-logistics case queue, send notifications and follow‑up reminders for pending asset returns, and coordinate pickups and shipments with logistics partners. You will update asset‑tracking systems with current statuses, confirm receipts, and reconcile any data discrepancies. Part of your day involves responding to stakeholder queries, escalating blocked cases through defined channels, and verifying that recovered assets are correctly logged and processed. Prepare short status updates summarizing queue health and open items. Throughout, you will apply standard operating procedures to keep cases moving and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

About the team

You will join the **ITS Reverse Logistics team**, a group dedicated to managing the recovery and lifecycle of IT assets across Amazon's India operations. The team ensures that equipment is efficiently returned, verified, and processed as employees transition, directly supporting inventory accuracy, cost efficiency, and compliance goals. We work closely with internal IT, logistics partner and logistics partners, using modern asset‑management and tracking tools to coordinate a high volume of cases at scale. The team values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement, and offers a collaborative, process‑driven environment where your contributions have a clear, measurable impact on operational performance.
