Job summary

Swift Cargo in Mumbai seeks a diligent customs clearance professional to handle import/export clearance at Nhava and ICDs, and to prepare documents including Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills. You will coordinate with shipper/consignee, CHAs, customs authorities, shipping lines and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance.

In this role you will monitor shipments, follow up on assessments and payments, and provide regular status updates to customers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customs clearance, trucking and freight forwarding.
• Strong coordination, communication and follow-up skills.
• Basic MS Excel and documentation skills.

Customs Clearance

• Handle / Co-ordinate import and export customs clearance at Nhava and ICDs
• Prepare and verify Bill of Entry, Shipping Bills, invoices, packing lists, and other documents.
• Coordinate with Shipper / Consignee, CHAs, customs authorities, shipping lines, CFS, ICD, and freight forwarders.
• Follow up on customs assessments, queries, shipment releases, and duty payments.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and maintain proper records.

Trucking & Transportation

• Arrange trucks for cargo pickup and delivery at Nhava Sheva and Mundra
• Coordinate with transporters, drivers, ports, warehouses, CFS, and ICD.
• Monitor vehicle movements, container pickup, delivery, and empty container returns.
• Handle transportation delays and verify LR, e-way bills, and PODs.
• Verify transporter bills and maintain transportation records.

Coordination & Customer Service

• Provide customers with regular shipment status updates.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Documentation teams.
• Ensure timely shipment clearance and delivery.
• Resolve operational issues and elevate delays to the reporting manager.
