COLUMBIA Shipmanagement Ltd. seeks a Crewing Operator (Offshore) based in Mumbai to manage crew changes for offshore vessels, ensuring compliance with Seafarers' Employment Agreement and the company's procedures.

The role requires 5+ years of offshore vessel experience, seagoing officer work or a degree with recruitment experience, and excellent English and interpersonal skills; you will coordinate with the Crewing Superintendent and Crew Wages Department as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of core offshore vessel experience.
• Experience with cable layers, AHTS, CSOV is a plus.
• Seagoing officer experience or a degree with 2+ years in recruitment is advantageous.
• Strong English language and interpersonal skills.
• Good controlling and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct crew changes for offshore vessels per Seafarers' Employment Agreement and Crewing Superintendent guidance.
• Verify Seafarers are trained and qualified per Company, STCW and Flag State requirements.
• Inform Crew Wages Department of changes in employment status (signing on/off).
• Inform relevant parties of medical cases/accidents and follow up.
• Arrange for Cash to Master payments as needed.
• Verify and approve Travelling Expenses payments on request.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned.
• Be conversant with the Company's Management System.

Job description

The Crewing Operator (Offshore) shall have the following qualifications:

• 5+ years of core experience working with offshore vessels
• Handling cable layers, AHTS and CSOV will be considered an advantage
• Seagoing experience as an officer, or a university degree and experience in the recruitment industry of not less than 2 years will be considered an advantage
• Good command of the English language and strong interpersonal skills
• Good controlling and communication skills

The Crewing Operator (Offshore) will be responsible for:

• Conducting crew changes for offshore vessels in compliance with the Seafarers' Employment Agreement and as agreed with the Crewing Superintendent
• Verifying that all Seafarers are trained and qualified in full compliance with Company's, STCW and Flag State requirements
• Informing the Crew Wages Department on any changes of the employment status, i.e. signing on and off of seafarers
• Informing relevant parties of any medical cases/accidents and follow up of these cases
• Arranging for Cash to Master
• Verifying and approving payment of Travelling Expenses, upon request
• Performing any other special tasks as these may be assigned
• Being adequately conversant with the Company's Management System
• Implementing effectively the Company's Management System
• Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures
• Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement
