Job summary

CMA CGM is seeking a qualified Crewing Operations professional in Mumbai to manage crew changes, arrange travel logistics, update the TOUCH system, and coordinate with Masters and agents. The role requires strong English, a Bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with STCW/MLC 2006 requirements.

Responsibilities include planning crew rotations, ensuring compliance with IMS and policies, and maintaining accurate crew documentation.

Qualifications

  • Manage travel logistics including air tickets, hotel bookings, and seafarer communications.
  • Maintain and update TOUCH crew management system and organize join/sign-off briefings.
  • Plan vessel visits to discuss crew issues and promote engagement; support 12-month crew shift planning.
  • Ensure onboard crew compliance with crewing policies and organize records and sign-on/off processes under DG e-governance.

Job Purpose:

  • Manage the Operations

  • Reports to: Crewing Manager


I. JOB DESCRIPTION


Responsibilities and Duties:

1. General


  • Ensure compliance with the companys Integrated Management System (IMS) and all relevant national and international maritime regulations.

  • Perform all duties in alignment with company policies on quality, health, safety, environment, and ethics.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide regular performance reports.


2. Crew Logistics


  • Coordinate with vessel Masters, port agents, and stakeholders to arrange timely and efficient crew changes.

  • Manage travel logistics including air tickets, hotel bookings, and communication with seafarers for on/o sign and training purposes.

  • Maintain and update the CMA Ships Crew Management System TOUCH.

  • Organize briefing and debriefing sessions for joining and signing-off crew members.


3. Training


  • Plan and schedule vessel visits to discuss crew-related issues and promote engagement, as directed by the Crew Manager.


4. Planning


  • Support planning activities for crew vacations, medical care including liaison with P&I team, certifications, and other personnel requirements.

  • Assist in preparing 12-month forward crew shift plans for all ratings.

  • Ensure onboard crew compliance with company crewing policies and procedures.


5. Document Control


  • Monitor and update seafarer documentation, ensuring timely renewal of certificates and licenses.

  • Manage candidate data entry in TOUCH and payroll systems.

  • Support certificate appraisal and approval processes.

  • Organize and maintain both hard and soft copies of crew-related records as required in compliance with internal & external policies

  • Ensure timely sign on & off completion in DG e-governance including generating of Form 1 and AOA as required.

  • Applying & coordinating with flag state for required endorsement or other related documents in compliance with vessels flag.


6. Reporting


  • Assist Crew Management in generating and submitting required reports and performance data.

  • To ensure that the Crewing Manager / Team Leader is always kept updated and fully informed about all exceptional cases

  • To perform ad hoc tasks as requested by the Crewing Manager / Team Leader



Performance indicators:


  • Quality of planning reflected in crewing software on 12 months period for TOP 5, 6 months period for the rest of seafarers

  • Data quality recorded in crewing software by planning team

  • Monthly KPI for the Company



Performance Evaluation:


  • Annually / Biannually



II. JOB SPECIFICATIONS


Education Level:


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Preferably familiar with STCW certifications, Seafarers Employment Terms & Conditions, MLC 2006, CBA, and Flag State requirements.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
