Job summary

HDB Financial Services Ltd. in Chennai seeks a Credit/Underwriting professional to appraise cross-sell loan applications and maintain portfolio quality.

You will deliver credit assessments within defined turnaround times, ensure audit and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with sales, operations, policy, and verification vendors.

The role requires 4–7 years of credit underwriting experience and a graduate or postgraduate degree; MBA/CA preferred, with a strong eye for risk and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Credit appraisals cross-sell loan applications for Sales Finance.
• Maintain quality portfolio.
• Deliver credit assessments within defined turnaround time.
• Audit and regulatory compliance for the location.
• Assist RCM with coordinating/managing RCU & verification vendors.
• Make lending decisions based on available information and applicant interactions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Collections, Policy for smooth daily operations.
• Maintain databases and prepare monthly reports on cases.
• Coordinate with agencies for sampling/screening for fraud prevention.
• Manage cost of credit administration performance.
• Ensure adherence to processes and policies.
• Support cost management and portfolio health.

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for credit appraisals cross sell loan applications of Sales Finance.
• Responsible to maintain quality portfolio.
• Responsibility to deliver the credit assessment target within specified Turnaround Time.
• Responsible for Audit and Regulatory compliance for the Location.
• Assist RCM with coordinating / managing RCU & verification vendors.
• Take sound lending decisions based on available information & interactions with the applicants.
• To interact closely with other functions such as sales / Operations/ Collections / Policy/ etc in ensuring smooth day to day functioning at Location.
• Maintain the Database and making reports for Monthly cases.
• Coordinating with agencies for proper sampling / screening of files for fraud prevention.
• Managing performance in terms Cost of credit administration.
• Responsible for Process and Policy Adherence.
• Responsible for Effective Cost Management
• Understanding & Managing Healthy Portfolio.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate / Postgraduate (MBA/CA preferred)
• 4-7 years experience in Credit/Underwriting.
