Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank in Hyderabad is seeking a credit underwriting professional with 2–4 years of experience in secured loans. You will assess creditworthiness, analyze financial statements and reports, and determine viable loan requests while applying regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• CA/MBA with 2–4 years of experience in secured loan underwriting.
• Experience in LAP (Loan Against Property) and affordable loans.
• Strong financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assess creditworthiness of individual and corporate loan applicants by analysing financial statements and reports.
• Conduct risk assessments to determine viability of loan requests; interpret financial ratios and cash flows.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks related to credit operations.
• Manage credit risk by setting appropriate credit limits, terms, and conditions.
• Communicate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams to understand loan requirements and provide credit solutions.
• Monitor delinquencies for underwritten cases in early stages to keep levels low.
• Maintain attention to detail, handle high-volume work, and meet deadlines across multiple cases.
• Utilise credit analysis software and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Support HO and local policy implementation at ground level as part of the team.
• Mentor CPAs to improve output quality and productivity.

Role & responsibilities

• Ability to assess the creditworthiness of individual and corporate loan applicants by analysing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments to determine the viability of loan requests. Evaluate and interpret financial ratios, cash flows, and collateral values to make informed credit decisions.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to credit operations.
• Manage and mitigate credit risk by setting appropriate credit limits, terms, and conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and Cross functional teams , necessary to understand their Loan Requirements and provide suitable credit solutions.
• Delinquency monitoring for underwritten cases during the infant stage so as to keep delinquency to almost Nil levels.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle high-volume work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple cases concurrently.
• Proficiency in using credit analysis software and Microsoft Office applications like Excel / Outlook.
• Being a team player while assisting the team in implementing HO & local policies at ground level.
• Handling of CPAs and mentoring them to extract quality in their output. Monitoring their productivity levels.

Preferred candidate profile

CA/MBA 2 to 4 years experience in credit underwriting in secured product

Experience in LAP (Loan Against Property) Affordable Loans.
