Job summary

reputed company in Newport Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior Director to join its Private ABS Team. The role is hybrid and focuses on identifying, evaluating, underwriting, and managing investment opportunities for private securitizations within the general account.

The team sits within a broader Private Debt Group. You will lead and grow the Private ABS capability from 3-4 people to a larger group, collaborating with investment professionals across related assets.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of credit investment experience and a 4-year degree with a relevant major (finance, economics, engineering, math, etc)
• Experience reviewing term sheets, indentures and other deal documentation
• Experience in ABS, RMBS, CMBS or CLOs
• Familiarity with financial tools and databases, such as Intex, Trepp, etc.
• Knowledge of programming languages, e.g. Python, VBA or R
• Risk appetite in alignment with company philosophy
• Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
• Ability to network and build strong business relationships
• Big-picture thinker, team player and ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Private ABS Team in sourcing, evaluating, and managing new credit opportunities across Esoteric, Consumer and Products
• Analyze financial models and conduct sensitivity analyses based on potential market and credit
• Develop and mentor team resources for new asset classes
• Conduct transaction-level document review with counsel
• Monitor existing portfolio investments and assets
• Maintain relationships with investment banks, other investors and rating agencies
• Mentor junior analysts in the Private Assets area
• Collaborate with other team members to enhance portfolio performance and objectives

Requirements

• 10+ years of reputed company credit investment experience and a 4-year degree with a relevant major (finance, reputed company, economics, engineering, math, etc)
• Existing knowledge of deal structures with willingness and comfort to review term sheets, indentures and other supporting deal documentation
• Experience in one or more reputed company product areas, such as ABS, RMBS, CMBS or CLOs, etc.
• Possession of strong communication, presentation and writing skillsFamiliarity with financial tools and databases, such as reputed company, Intex, Trepp, etc.
