Job summary

Davies in Pune is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to lead testing strategy, plan regression, functional, data validation, system integration, load, and performance tests, while automating QA processes.

You will collaborate with development teams to embed testing into the build, create and execute automated test cases, and continually improve the test automation framework to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and implementing regression, functional, data validation, system integration, load or performance tests.
• Proficiency in writing scripts and creating automation environments for repeated tests.
• Ability to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development process.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement testing for new and existing functionality.
• Automate test cases for unit testing and future use.
• Work with developers to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the build process.
• Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases with business partners and developers.
• Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Isolate, reproduce, manage, and maintain defects and test cases; verify fixes.
• Support user acceptance testing conducted by business partners or end users.
• Conduct exploratory testing and risk analysis for complex features across platforms.
• Identify opportunities to reduce testing time by automating repeatable tests.
• Enhance and maintain the test automation framework.
• Apply automated testing approaches and explore new testing technologies such as ML.
• Define and champion quality and test best practices among teams.
• Collaborate with other QA engineers in communities of practice.

Davies is looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer (Testing). Reporting to the Senior manager of Development, you will be accountable ensuring high-quality software delivery by planning, implementing, and automating quality assurance testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement testing (e.g., regression, functional, data validation, system integration, load, or performance tests) for new and existing functionality.
• Automate test cases for unit testing + future use by writing scripts and create automation environments for repeated tests.
• Work closely with development teams to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development process.
• Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases, working with business partners, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective action.
• Isolate, reproduce, manage, and maintain defects and test case databases, and verify fixes.
• Support user acceptance testing conducted by business partners or end users.
• Conduct exploratory testing and risk analysis for complex features, e.g., those that span across platforms or teams.
• Identify opportunities to reduce testing time and effort by automating repeatable tests.
• Enhance and maintain the test automation framework.
• Understand and apply automated testing approaches such as model-based testing or record-and-replay.
• Research, recommend, and implement new testing technologies and practices, such as incorporating machine learning.
• Define and champion quality and test best practices among development teams.
• Collaborate and share information with other software QA engineers, e.g., by participating in a community of practice.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks.
• Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Experience with SQL and database validation testing.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Understanding of cloud-hosted applications within Azure or AWS environments.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Experience testing microservices and API-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
