Job summary

Giga Energy in India is seeking a dynamic India Country Head to own and grow our India operations. You will be the senior point of contact for HR, finance, compliance, hiring, and day-to-day execution across Bangalore and Vadodara.

You will report to the Head of Asia and build a high-performing, compliant, and scalable India entity while collaborating with leadership to set priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of US work experience in operations or general management.
• US education background, preferably in engineering or a technical field.
• Proven experience managing a team and working cross-functionally with US and China based leadership across time zones.
• Strong understanding of Indian statutory requirements PF, ESIC, TDS, GST, Companies Act.
• High ownership mentality with the ability to operate without a detailed playbook.
• A proven track record of operating with integrity in high-trust environments is required.
• Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of both India office locations and ensure full alignment with leadership on priorities and execution.
• Lead the local HR and hiring function; manage the HR team, oversee the full hiring cycle from sourcing to onboarding, and ensure processes are followed and documented.
• Manage India finance and statutory compliance; coordinate with the chartered accountant and company secretary, oversee payroll, approve payments, and ensure all filings are completed on time.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external partners including auditing firms, legal counsel, and business consultants.
• Build, document, and continuously improve SOPs across all functions.
• Travel regularly between Bangalore and Vadodara to support both offices and build team cohesion.

Requirements

• 5+ years of US work experience, preferably in operations or general management
• US education background, preferably in engineering or a technical field this is an engineering support office and understanding the work your team does matters.
• Proven experience managing a team and working cross-functionally with US and China based leadership across time zones.
• Strong understanding of Indian statutory requirements PF, ESIC, TDS, GST, Companies Act.

This role operates at the intersection of HR, finance, legal, and leadership discretion and confidentiality are non-negotiable. You will handle sensitive information on a daily basis and are expected to exercise sound judgment on what gets shared, with whom, and when.

• Experience in manufacturing, energy, or engineering. Prior experience setting up or scaling an India entity for a foreign-owned company. Experience working in a scale-up or high-growth environment where processes are built from scratch.
