Job summary

Astrotalk's Lumus platform connects counsellors with users in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. As a Counsellor, you will hold supportive, one-on-one conversations that help people feel heard, understand patterns, and move forward with greater clarity in relationships, personal growth and life decisions.

• Excellent written and verbal English, with a natural, warm conversational tone.
• Strong active listening, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
• Background or interest in psychology, counselling, or human behaviour is a plus, not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport in the first minutes of every conversation, so users feel comfortable opening up.
• Practice active and reflective listening: paraphrase, validate emotions without judgment, and ask open-ended questions.
• Guide users toward their own insights and realistic next steps, rather than giving direct advice.
• Adapt tone and approach to each user's state, background and style across US/UK/Canada/Australia.
• Handle sensitive conversations with empathy, confidentiality and patience.

Key Responsibilities

• Build rapport in the first minutes of every conversation, so users feel comfortable opening up.
• Practise active and reflective listening: paraphrase, validate emotions without judgment, and ask open-ended questions that help users explore their own thoughts.
• Guide users toward their own insights and realistic next steps, rather than giving direct advice or telling them what to do.
• Adapt your tone and approach to each users emotional state, cultural background and communication style across the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
• Handle sensitive conversations with empathy, patience and strict confidentiality.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal English, with a natural, warm conversational tone
• Strong active listening, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
• Background or interest in psychology, counselling, or human behaviour (a degree in Psychology or a related field is a plus, not mandatory)
• Based in or willing to relocate to Noida, Greater Noida, Mayur Vihar, Anand Vihar, Sarita Vihar and Ghaziabad (Pick up cab facility will be provided for these locations)
• Comfortable working USA shift timings (10 PM to 7 AM)
