Job Description- Costing, Budgeting & ERP Cost Control

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Budgeting & Cost Planning

Prepare detailed project budgets (preliminary, BOQ-based, and execution stage)

Develop cost benchmarks / per sq.ft analysis

Coordinate with design, contracts, and project teams for budget inputs

Establish cost codes aligned with ERP

Cost Control & Monitoring

Monitor budgeted cost vs actual cost

Identify cost overruns / savings opportunities

Track cash flow projections vs actuals outflow

Conduct monthly cost review meetings

ERP-Based Cost Tracking

Ensure accurate cost capturing in ERP system

Track PR/SR WO/PO Abstract/GRN Billing Payment cycle

Generate real-time MIS reports from ERP

Ensure discipline in cost heads & data entry

Contracts & Billing Coordination

Validate BOQs, work orders, and variation orders

Cross-check contractor RA bills with budget provisions

Monitor variation / deviation statements

Ensure compliance with approved rates & quantities

MIS & Reporting

Prepare Monthly Cost Reports (MCR)

Budget vs Actual dashboards

Project profitability analysis

Present reports to management

Value Engineering

Suggest cost optimization strategies

Work with design & execution team for value engineering

Benchmark with market rates and past projects

Audit & Compliance

Support internal & external audits

Ensure adherence to company cost control policies

Contracts and Purchase department)

Finalize project budget

Upload into ERP

3. ERP Budget Loading

Define cost heads and WBS

Map SR, PR, WO, PO, to WBS

4. Budget Monitoring Tracking

SR/ PR generation and budget check

WO/ PO issuance and committed cost tracking

5. Cost Tracking & Monitoring

Track material quantity in BOQ and work progress

Compare budget vs actual

6. Variance Analysis

Identify overruns and savings

Analyze reasons and update budget

8. MIS & Reporting

Generate monthly reports and forecasts

9. Continuous Improvement
