Job summary

Bosch Global Software Technologies Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru is seeking a cost engineering specialist to develop target cost models for manufacturing equipment and automation systems. You will analyze MAE concepts, drawings, and supplier quotations to identify key cost drivers and establish benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing & assembly processes (exposure to machining, forging, casting)
• Exposure to electro-mechanical systems (mechanical + electronics) preferred
• Familiarity with GD&T and drawing reading
• Understanding of product cost structures and supplier quotations
• Proficient in MS Excel and data presentation
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Gen-AI and digitalization tools knowledge is a plus
• Experience in cost engineering concepts and teardown analyses

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain target cost models for manufacturing equipment and automation systems
• Analyze MAE concepts, specifications, layouts, drawings and supplier quotations to identify key cost drivers and establish cost benchmarks
• Evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment concepts and technical specifications from a cost and value engineering perspective
• Conduct competitor product studies and cost estimations for greenfield & brownfield projects
• Perform teardown analyses and technical studies of manufacturing processes, features, materials
• Engage with suppliers and vendors on cost, design and feasibility discussions
• Identify process improvements and cost-reduction ideas
• Document product cost structures and justify engineering decisions
• Support product development with cost-effective design inputs
• Exposure to tool design and manufacturing (molds, casting, press tools) is advantageous

Develop and maintain target cost models for manufacturing equipment, automation systems, assembly & testing equipment, fixtures, etc.

Analyze technical MAE concepts, specifications, layouts, drawings and supplier quotations to identify key cost drivers and establish cost benchmarks.

Evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment concepts and technical specifications from a cost and value engineering perspective

Competitor Product study Product and component cost estimation - Greenfield & Brownfield (Sales Price, Design to cost (D2C), Nego calculations, RPP etc.)

Holistic view on Cost Engg methods and processes Teardown Analysis Technical study i.e. manufacturing process, design features, materials etc. Predicting assembly techniques and sequences Product comparison & detailed documentation Supplier interactions, vendors discussions

Required skills: Knowledge on manufacturing & assembly process (Exposure on one core manufacturing process)- Machining, Forging, Casting etc. Knowledge on Mechanical and Electronics preferrable (Electro-Mechanical)

Good Knowledge on Gen-AI and Digitalization tools (Added advantage)

Knowledge on tool design and manufacturing (Molds, Casting & Press tool - Added Advantage)
