Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling in Pune, India, is seeking a Cost Engineering Associate to lead cost estimations and design-to-cost activities for electronics components. The role involves driving VE initiatives and supplier negotiations to optimize overall project costs.

You will report to Cost Engineering and contribute to price calculations, feasibility assessments, and cost audits within a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost price calculations for electronics components.
• Identify and lead cost-saving opportunities on electronics commodities.
• Assess customer specifications for completeness and feasibility.
• Coordinate with internal operations, purchasing, suppliers and accounts teams.
• Determine optimal assembly and processing strategy with the operation.
• Provide technical substantiation of cost price calculations and related reports.

As a Cost EngineerElectronics specialist,youare responsible forcreatingprice calculations and technical preparation of quotationsfor electronic componentssuch as

Wire Harness, batterypacks, battery management systems, PCB’s, high voltage systems, electricmotorsetc.

You lead project cost estimations in the early innovation stage, providing crucial projections for informed decision-making. You drive sourcing activities for design-to-cost projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.Furthermore, youidentifyand lead Value Added/Value Engineering initiatives tooptimizeproject costs. Youcontribute activelyto negotiations with suppliers. You take the lead in cost audits to ensure accuracy and transparency.

You check the technical feasibility anddeterminestheoptimalone editingmethodology. You report directly to theleadCost Engineering.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

In this role you will develop concrete product improvements within our value engineering approach and target costing projects, andyou’llcontribute to creating innovative product ideas.
