Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. in Chennai seeks a Cost Accountant Specialist to manage standard costs, PPV analysis and inventory valuation. You will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain and Finance on cost analysis, budgeting and month-end close, while supporting internal controls and reporting improvements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs per costing processes.

• Support inventory valuation, reconciliation and related accounting.
• Prepare costing-related journal entries and financial reports.

• Support budgeting, forecasting and month-end close activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and reporting enhancements.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost data and financial information.
• Support internal controls and costing/inventory policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Purchase Price Variance (PPV), labour, usage and overhead variances.
• Support inventory valuation, reconciliation and related accounting activities.
• Prepare costing-related journal entries and financial reports.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams on cost analysis and cost optimization initiatives.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and month-end financial close activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and reporting enhancements.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost accounting data and financial information.

Mandatory Requirements
