Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive product costing system.
• Prepare and review product cost sheets including materials, labour, overheads, and other costs.
• Support quotation analysis and pricing decisions by evaluating cost structures and margins.
• Monitor and analyze contribution margins and product profitability.
• Conduct cost variance analysis and identify reasons for deviations from standards/budgets.
• Collaborate with production, purchase, and finance to improve cost accuracy and control.
• Identify cost-reduction and cost-optimization initiatives.
• Monitor standard costs versus actual costs and recommend corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting related to manufacturing costs.
• Evaluate CAPEX proposals for financial impact and efficiency.

A reputed Japanese Joint Venture manufacturing company with its factory located at Kelambakkam, Chennai is looking for experienced and detail-oriented Cost Accountants, with B. Com and CMA qualification.

Age not to exceed 40 years.

Those with 5 to 10 years' experience in costing in a manufacturing company are preferred.

Language: English & Tamil

Hindi preferred and Japanese will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive product costing system.
• Prepare and review product cost sheets, including material, labour, overheads, and other relevant costs.
• Support quotation analysis and pricing decisions by evaluating cost structures and expected margins.
• Monitor and analyze contribution margins and product profitability.
• Conduct cost variance analysis and identify the reasons for significant deviations from standards/budgets.
• Work closely with production, purchase, finance, and other departments to improve cost accuracy and cost control.
• Identify and support cost-reduction and cost-optimization initiatives.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor standard costs versus actual costs and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting related to manufacturing costs.
• Evaluate the financial impact and efficiency of capital expenditure (CAPEX) proposals.
• Monitor capex utilization and assess investment / capex efficiency and returns.
• Develop meaningful costing reports, MIS, dashboards, and management analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of costing data within ERP systems.
• Support periodic inventory valuation and analysis of manufacturing overheads, where required.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for costing-related requirements.
• Ensure adherence to applicable accounting, costing, internal control, and company policies.
