Job summary

H&B Hr Solutions is hiring a Mortgage Legal Counsel in Delhi to lead legal due diligence on mortgage properties and ensure compliance with RBI NBFC guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role offering exposure to NBFC operations and cross-functional teams.

Require LLB, Bar admission in India, 7–10 years of experience in mortgage law, title diligence, and strong knowledge of Transfer of Property Act, Stamp Act, and Registration Act.

Qualifications

• LLB from a recognized law school and admission to the Bar in India.
• 7–10 years of experience in mortgage, NBFC/banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of property laws (Transfer of Property Act, Stamp Act, Registration Act).
• Hands-on mortgage legal matters, title diligence and collateral verification.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve Title Search Reports for mortgage properties and due diligence.
• Identify property title risks and enforceability of collateral.
• Draft, review and standardize mortgage security documents.
• Coordinate with empanelled advocates and external counsels.
• Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines and NBFC regulations.
• Draft legal policies and streamline mortgage processes.
• Coordinate with Credit, Risk, Operations and Business teams.
• Manage legal queries, MIS, audits and process improvements.

Candidate Requirements:

• 710 years of relevant experience in a bank, NBFC, financial institution or lending company.
• Strong knowledge of property laws, Transfer of Property Act, Stamp Act and Registration Act.
• Hands-on experience in mortgage legal matters, title diligence and collateral verification.
• Additional certifications in financial law or fintech regulations will be an advantage.
