Job summary

Delaplex in Bengaluru, India seeks a Controls Engineer III to lead design, development, testing and deployment of complex automation systems across projects. You will be the technical authority for Controls Engineering, ensuring scalable, compliant, high-quality solutions integrating with MHE systems, HMIs, WES/WCS, and customer interfaces.

You will drive cross-functional alignment, mentor engineers, establish standards, and ensure predictable, efficient execution throughout the project

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, or equivalent engineering qualifications.
• 5+ years PLC programming experience (Rockwell preferred; Siemens/others a plus).
• Strong understanding of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profinet, etc.).
• Experience with conveyor and MHE control systems, safety PLCs, and machine automation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system diagrams.
• Prior experience defining and working with software/PLC interfaces.
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk View preferred).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex controls issues efficiently.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead technical conversations with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Comfortable mentoring and guiding engineers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Controls Engineer III is responsible for guiding the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex automation systems across projects. This role serves as the technical authority for Controls Engineering, ensuring scalable, compliant and high-quality solutions which integrate seamlessly with upstream and downstream MHE systems (conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, sortation, and associated industrial automation technologies), including HMIs, WES/WCS platforms, and customer host interfaces. The Program Lead drives cross functional alignment, mentors engineers, establishes standards and best practices, and ensures predictable, efficient execution throughout the project lifecycle.

Other Requirements:
