Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Control Systems Design Engineer in Gurugram to plan, develop, and review control systems design work, produce drawings, and prepare design estimates for projects. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years in related roles, with strong proficiency in CAD tools and P&IDs.

• Strong proficiency in multiple CAD tools and engineering design standards.
• Knowledge of Control Systems design and related documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Leads or administers control systems design work and prepares 2-D/3-D CAD drawings.
• Develops designs for complete control systems including earthwork, drainage, and foundation aspects.
• Reviews drawings, calculations, and bid summaries for compliance with standards.
• Prepares material requisitions and participates in bid evaluations.
• Ensures designs comply with installation codes and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates jobsite visits to resolve drawing issues and interpret documents.

Job Summary

In this role, you will plan, develop, and review control systems design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure control systems designs comply with all regulations and standards.

Major Responsibilities

• Leads or administers work of Control Systems designers and drafters for a business line technology to incluse the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings
• Develops designs for complete and complex Control Systems engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed . Ensures Control Systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards
• Assists in constructing detailed scale models
• Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations
• Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved Control Systems design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy
• Participates in constructability reviews
• Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort
• Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents
• Reviews Control Systems design scope changes, as required, for project management
• Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use

Education And Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Highly proficient in S3D, SPI, SPR, Revit modeling, Navisworks, PDS, AutoCAD, MicroStation and Bluebeam
• Thorough knowledge in P&IDs, Cable Schedule, IO List and Network Architecture.
• Fire & Gas Layout and interpretation of NFPA 72
• Remote I/O Design of major DCS Vendors.
• Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to designs.
