Project Overview

Bechtel India offices are looking for design engineering professionals to support the design of semiconductor fabrication facilities in the US region – Ohio and New York. The design engineering shall support the construction of new semiconductor fabs including the completion of the Fab/Process Specific Support Systems (PSSSs) and PSSS yards, Boiler Chiller Packages (BCPs), Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment (WWT) building, yards and Site Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) conveyance trestles.

Job Summary

Bechtel India Office is currently seeking a Control Systems – Revit Designer for the detail design engineering execution of large semiconductor manufacturing facilities, pharmaceutical ingredient facilities within the Manufacturing and Technology Business Group, and oil and gas projects especially related to LNG and refineries. Ideal candidates are self‑starters with strong oral and written communication skills.

Major Responsibilities

• Develop and manage 3D BIM models and drawings for control systems and instrumentation scope in EPC projects.
• Generate plans, sections, elevations and all necessary details from the model.
• Maintain data integrity in assigning and managing materials, quantities, etc., within the model.
• Develop cable routing, instrument placement, panel layouts, and coordinate multiple disciplines to support efficient project execution.
• Collaborate and integrate with engineering, electrical, mechanical, and site teams.
• Generate instrument location plans, impulse tubing modeling, cable and conduit layout drawings, panel and cabinet layouts, installation details, and sections.
• Extract cable schedules, bills of quantities (BOQ) and material take‑offs.
• Prepare fire and gas layout drawings.
• Develop instrument hook‑up drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD and generate hook‑up sketches using SPI.
• Conduct LOD 300 and LOD 400 model reviews and resolve tags with clients, subcontractors and vendors.
• Perform clash checks in model to develop a clash‑free system design.
• Prepare control‑room and electrical substation layout drawings.
• Load JB and RIO cabinets, estimate fan‑out cable and home‑run cable length for FEED estimates.

Education and Experience Requirements

• 3‑year diploma in Electronics & Telecommunications or Instrumentation & Control Systems from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Level 1 – 7 to 11 years; Level 2 – 12 to 15 years.
• FEED and EPC execution experience of large manufacturing & technology, mining and metal, oil & gas, and infrastructure projects.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Highly proficient in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360 and Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with BIM models (LOD 100–400 depending on stage).
• Adequate knowledge of S3D, SPR, MicroStation and SPI (preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of P&IDs, cable schedule, I/O list and network architecture.
• Knowledge of fire and gas layout and interpretation of NFPA 72.
• Remote I/O design of major DCS vendors.
• Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
• Knowledge of application of engineering and construction materials related to designs.
