Project Overview

Bechtel India offices are looking for design engineering professionals to support the design of semiconductor fabrication (fab) facilities in the US region – Ohio and New York. The design engineering will support the construction of new semiconductor fabs, including completion of Fab/Process Specific Support Systems (PSSSs) and PSSS yards, Boiler Chiller Packages (BCPs), Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment (WWT) buildings, yards, and Site Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) conveyance trestles.

Job Summary

Bechtel India Office is seeking a Control Systems – Revit Designer to perform detail design engineering for large semiconductor manufacturing facilities, pharmaceutical ingredient facilities, and oil & gas projects such as LNG and refineries. The role requires a self‑starter with strong oral and written communication skills.

Major Responsibilities

• Develop and manage 3D BIM models and drawings for control systems and instrumentation scope in EPC projects.
• Generate plans, sections, elevations, and all necessary details from the model.
• Maintain data integrity by assigning and managing data (materials, quantities, etc.) within the model.
• Develop cable routing, instrument placement, panel layouts, and support multi‑discipline coordination.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, electrical, mechanical, and site teams.
• Generate Instrument Location Plans, impulse tubing models, cable and conduit layout drawings, panel and cabinet layouts, and installation details and sections.
• Extract cable schedules, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and material take‑offs.
• Prepare fire & gas layout drawings.
• Develop instrument hook‑up drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD and generate hook‑up sketches using SPI.
• Review LOD 300 and LOD 400 models, resolve tags with clients, sub‑contractors, and vendors.
• Perform clash checks in the model to produce a clash‑free system design.
• Prepare control room and electrical substation layout drawings.
• Load JB and RIO cabinets, estimate fan‑out cable and home‑run cable length for FEED estimates.

Education and Experience Requirements

3‑year diploma in Electronics & Telecommunications or Instrumentation & Control Systems from an accredited college or university.

• Level 1: 7‑11 years of experience.
• Level 2: 12‑15 years of experience.

FEED and EPC execution experience on large manufacturing & technology, mining and metal, oil & gas, and infrastructure projects.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Highly proficient in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Bluebeam.
• Experience with BIM models at LOD 100‑400 depending on project stage.
• Knowledge of S3D, SPR, MicroStation, and SPI (preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of P&IDs, cable schedule, I/O list, and network architecture.
• Fire & gas layout interpretation of NFPA 72.
• Remote I/O design of major DCS vendors.
• Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
• Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to designs.
