Job summary

Innovative Instruments and Controls is seeking a Control Panel Estimation Engineer in Chennai to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical control panels and automation projects. The role requires 2–5 years of experience in estimation, reading electrical drawings, BOQs and supplier pricing; proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in EEE/ECE/E&I or Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in control panel estimation or electrical/automation projects.
• Proficient in reading electrical drawings and BOQs.
• MS Excel proficiency and estimation tools; knowledge of EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.

About the Role

We are looking for a Control Panel Estimation Engineer with experience in electrical control panels and industrial automation to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates and quotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates and quotations for control panels and automation projects.
• Study electrical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Select and estimate costs for PLC, HMI, VFD, MCC, PCC, control panels, electrical components, and accessories.
• Prepare BOM and material cost calculations.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for component pricing.
• Compare supplier quotations and negotiate for competitive pricing.
• Prepare commercial and technical quotations.
• Coordinate with the Sales, Design, Purchase, and Project teams.
• Maintain estimation records and update component pricing.

Requirements

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in EEE / ECE / E&I / Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in control panel estimation or electrical/automation projects.
• Good knowledge of electrical control panels and industrial automation components.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, GA drawings, and BOQs.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools.
• Knowledge of EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
