Job description

We are looking for a skilled Content Writer to join our premium cosmetics brand, responsible for crafting compelling, scientifically accurate, and brand-aligned content across digital touchpoints. The ideal candidate combines storytelling flair with the ability to translate complex formulation science into content that builds trust and drives engagement with a discerning, ingredient-conscious consumer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and manage content for the brand website, including product descriptions, ingredient stories, and landing pages
• Develop SEO-optimized blogs and articles on skincare/beauty science, ingredient education, and industry trends
• Translate technical and scientific formulation data (actives, concentrations, clinical claims, dermatological studies) into consumer-friendly, credible copy
• Collaborate with R&D/formulation teams to accurately represent product claims while ensuring regulatory compliance (CDSCO/BIS cosmetic labelling norms)
• Write copy for email campaigns, product launches, packaging inserts, and catalogues
• Support social media and influencer briefs with on-brand messaging
• Maintain brand tone of voice across all consumer touchpoints premium, informed, and trustworthy
• Conduct competitive content audits and stay current with beauty/skincare science trends, ingredient trends, and Indian consumer sentiment
• Work closely with design, digital marketing, and e-commerce teams for content calendars and campaign rollouts

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mass Communication, English, Life Sciences, Cosmetic Science, or related field
• 2 - 5 years of content writing experience specifically within beauty, skincare, or personal care brands in India (agency experience serving beauty clients also considered)
• Demonstrated ability to write technical/science-backed content familiarity with actives (e.g., niacinamide, retinol, peptides, hyaluronic acid), formulation science, and dermatological terminology
• Strong portfolio showcasing website copy, blogs, and product/ingredient storytelling
• Working knowledge of SEO best practices and content performance metrics
• Understanding of Indian cosmetic regulatory guidelines (CDSCO, BIS) for claims and labelling
• Excellent command of English; Hindi/regional language content skills a plus

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating directly with formulation chemists/R&D teams
• Familiarity with clean beauty, derma-cosmetic, or clinical skincare positioning
• Exposure to D2C/e-commerce content ecosystems (Shopify, Amazon A+ content, marketplace listings)
• Basic understanding of content tools (SEMrush/Ahrefs, CMS platforms, Grammarly, AI writing tools with editorial oversight)
