Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Ribbon SBC Engineer to support, manage, and optimize Session Border Controller infrastructure in a complex enterprise/UCC environment. The role covers L2/L3 support, troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of Ribbon (Sonus) SBC platforms to ensure high availability, security, and voice performance.

Key duties include configuring SIP trunks, TLS/SRTP, and coordination with carriers, with direct routing to Microsoft Teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Ribbon SBC / Sonus SBC.
• Strong understanding of SIP, VoIP architecture, RTP/SRTP, TLS.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams Direct Routing is highly preferred.
• Networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, VLANs), Firewall and load balancing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for Ribbon SBC (Sonus SBC 1000/2000/5000 series).
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity of SBC infrastructure.
• Handle incident management, problem management, and service requests.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for voice and signaling issues.
• Ensure adherence to SLA/KPI compliance.
• Configure and manage: SIP trunks, dial plans, routing policies.
• TLS/SRTP configurations for secure communication.
• Support new deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
• Integrate SBC with: Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, Skype for Business / Lync, CUCM / other PBX platforms.
• Diagnose issues related to: SIP signaling (INVITE, REGISTER, BYE flows).
• Call failures, one-way audio, call drops.
• Codec mismatches and media negotiation (RTP/SRTP).
• Use tools like: Ribbon SBC logs & traces, Wireshark / packet captures.
• Work with carriers/vendors for end-to-end issue resolution.
• Implement and maintain: SBC security policies.
• Access control and firewall configurations.
• Involve in automation of routine activities; scripts for configuration backup, health checks.
