Job summary

Thompsons Hr Consulting seeks a Site Readiness Engineer in Bhuj, Gujarat, to verify that project sites, access routes, utilities, and facilities are prepared for construction handover. You will coordinate across engineering, procurement, logistics and construction teams to clear punch items and confirm readiness against schedules.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical engineering and 20+ years of experience in project execution or construction coordination,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil / Electrical) or related discipline.
• 20+ years of experience in project execution, construction coordination, site development, or project management.
• Experience in Power Generation, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, EPC, or PMC projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site readiness assessments and verify handover readiness to contractors.
• Review availability of permits, utilities, materials, equipment, and site facilities for construction.
• Identify constraints affecting handover and expedite corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, permitting, and construction teams to close outstanding issues.
• Track site readiness actions and ensure timely completion of punch items before handover.
• Verify completion of land development, infrastructure, temporary facilities, and utility connections.
• Monitor readiness status against project schedules and milestones.
• Facilitate coordination meetings to resolve site readiness and interface issues.

Job Purpose

The Site Readiness Engineer is responsible for verifying and ensuring that project sites, work areas, and facilities are fully prepared for construction handover and commencement of work. The role focuses on site readiness assessments, identification of constraints, expediting corrective actions, and coordinating stakeholders to ensure smooth transition from planning and procurement to construction execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site readiness assessments and verify that construction work fronts are ready for handover to contractors.
• Review availability of engineering deliverables, permits, access roads, utilities, materials, equipment, and site facilities required for construction.
• Identify constraints affecting site handover and construction commencement.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, permitting, and construction teams to expedite closure of outstanding issues.
• Track and monitor site readiness actions and ensure timely completion of punch items prior to handover.
• Verify completion of land development, infrastructure works, temporary facilities, and utility connections required for construction activities.
• Monitor readiness status against project schedules and milestones.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with stakeholders to resolve site readiness and interface issues.
• Prepare site readiness reports, dashboards, action registers, and management updates.
• Follow up on critical actions and recovery plans to prevent delays to construction activities.
• Coordinate interface management between contractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE, quality, and regulatory requirements prior to site handover.
• Support mobilization planning and readiness reviews for contractors and construction teams.
• Participate in site walkdowns, inspections, and handover verification activities.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in engineering (Civil / Electrical, or related discipline).

Experience

20 + years of experience in project execution, construction coordination, site development, or project management. Experience in Power Generation, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, EPC, or PMC projects preferred.
