Job summary

Deepak Group is looking for an experienced Project Construction Planner (Mechanical Engineer) to develop, monitor, and control schedules for large-scale industrial projects in India. You will plan engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities using Primavera P6 and MS Project.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, analyze delays, prepare recovery plans, and contribute to progress reporting, look-ahead schedules, and dashboards to ensure on-time

Qualifications

• Experience in developing detailed schedules for large-scale EPC projects.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Knowledge of piping, equipment erection, steel structures and mechanical activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical construction.
• Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks.
• Monitor progress and update schedules weekly and monthly.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, contractors, and client teams.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, dashboards, and S-curves.
• Support cost forecasting and project reviews.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Construction Planner (Mechanical Engineer) to develop, monitor, and control project schedules for large-scale industrial, manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects. The role involves planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, resource loading, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project.
• Prepare Level 1 to Level 4 project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Perform construction planning for mechanical activities including:
  • Piping
  • Equipment Erection
  • Steel Structures
  • Tanks & Vessels
  • Rotating Equipment
  • Utility Systems
• Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule risks.
• Monitor project progress and update schedules periodically.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, contractors, and client teams.
• Analyze delays, productivity trends, and prepare recovery plans.
• Develop manpower, equipment, and resource histograms.
• Support project cost control and forecasting activities.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide schedule insights.
• Track milestone achievements and ensure contractual schedule compliance.
• Assist in shutdown, turnaround, and commissioning planning activities.
