Job summary

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of planning experience in construction or industrial projects.

• Experience with EPC/steel plant or refinery projects is a plus.
• Strong communication and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed schedules, baseline programs, and resource-loaded plans using Primavera P6.

• Monitor progress against baselines and identify schedule variances.
• Perform critical path analysis and recommend mitigations.
• Produce weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.

• Contribute schedule inputs for project reviews and management decisions.

Job Description Project Planner (Construction Project) Primavera P6

Position: Project Planner / Planning Engineer Location: Project Site at Client Experience: 5 - 7 Years (Construction/Industrial Projects Preferred)

Job Purpose: To develop, monitor, update, and control project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring timely completion of construction and pre commissioning activities through effective planning, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project schedules, baseline programs, and resource-loaded plans using Primavera P6.
• Prepare Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity coding, project calendars, and resource assignments.
• Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules and identify schedule variances.
• Conduct critical path analysis and recommend mitigation and recovery actions to maintain project timelines.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and management presentations.
• Track construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Review contractor schedules and validate progress measurement.
• Support project controls activities including forecasting, delay analysis, and risk assessments.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide schedule-related inputs for management decision-making.
• Project Planning & Scheduling Expertise in Primavera P6.
• Expertise required in Schedule Integration (Mechanical completion, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up, Production ramp-up schedules
• Systemization breakdown will be Important to understand breakdown and how a plant is divided into Systems and Sub Systems.
• Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Execution Knowledge and understands Commissioning Logic.
• Knowledge of Commissioning Progress Measurement must be able establish KPIs and measure against them.
• Steel Plant Process Logic would be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Expert knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project reporting tools.
• Understanding of project lifecycle from engineering through commissioning.
• Ability to develop baseline schedules, resource plans, and progress measurement systems.
• Knowledge of delay analysis, critical path methodology (CPM), and risk management.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in large EPC, steel plant, refinery, power, or heavy industrial construction projects.
• Experience in tracking manpower, equipment, and productivity performance.
