Job summary

Cadence is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to support a world-class multi-million-line product and an engineering team of hundreds. You will manage a complex build/test infrastructure across thousands of machines and millions of tests, coordinating CM workflows and SCM processes.

Ideal candidates have strong scripting (Shell, Python, Perl) and UNIX administration skills, with experience in tools like Perforce/Git/Mercurial/CVS.

Qualifications

• BTech / MTech / MCA in CS or IT with 3–6 years of experience.
• Experience in Configuration Management for large projects.
• Experience with admin of Perforce, Git, Mercurial, CVS or similar.
• Expertise in build tools and SCM processes; strong scripting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain CM for a large multi-site product with thousands of tests and many engineers.
• Administer one or more SCM systems (Perforce, Git, Mercurial, CVS, ClearCase).
• Develop build tooling and scripting (Shell, Python, Perl).
• Operate as UNIX user/admin with collaboration across teams.

Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional Configuration Management Engineer, to work in a team supporting a world-class multi-million-line product, supporting an engineering team of hundreds of engineers, and managing a build/test infrastructure spanning thousands of lines of infrastructure code, thousands of machines and millions of tests.

• Having working experience in Configuration Management of large projects (large code and test bases, multi-sited, hundreds of users)
• Exposure to one or more of Perforce/git/Mercurial/CVS/RCS/ClearCase as an admin
• Expertise on build tools and SCM processes. - Scripting skills at the level of an expert
• Using one or more of Shells/Python/Perl. - UNIX expertise – as user and (preferably) admin

Additional Job Description

Additionally, we would be delighted if our person has these additional skills/experience

• Exposure/expertise in HTML, CSS, Java script (&Frameworks) and AJAX
• Understanding/use of Relational and Flat Database systems (MySQL/Mongo/Cassandra)
• Exposure to tools such as Coverity, Valgrind, Purify, Quantify, gcov, gprof, Sanitizers
