Job summary

Dunbar & Boardman, a UK-based specialist consultancy, seeks a CAD Technician in Tamil Nadu to create, modify and maintain drawings for vertical transportation and façade access systems. You will work closely with engineering and consulting teams to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specs.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide effective Technical Support related to CAD tools, design files, and project documentation.
• Knowledge of Computer Maintenance practices to keep CAD workstations, peripherals, and related hardware operating efficiently.
• Strong Troubleshooting skills for resolving CAD software issues, file errors, and compatibility problems.
• Hands-on experience with Computer Repair or coordinating repair activities to minimize downtime of critical design equipment.
• Solid understanding of Operating Systems (e.g., Windows) for installing, configuring, and optimizing CAD and related software.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with 2D/3D drafting.
• Attention to detail, spatial awareness, and ability to interpret drawings accurately.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teams in a consulting environment.
• Relevant technical diploma or degree in engineering, architecture, drafting, or related field; experience in building services or vertical transportation is a plus.

Role Description

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician will create, modify, and maintain technical drawings and models for vertical transportation and façade access systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications and industry standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include working closely with engineering and consulting teams, interpreting design briefs, translating conceptual sketches into detailed CAD drawings, and updating documentation as designs evolve. The role involves managing drawing files, maintaining CAD libraries, and supporting project coordination by preparing layouts, sections, and detail drawings for use in proposals, tenders, and construction documents. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Tamil Nadu, India, with a mix of in-office collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility.
