Job summary

Talworx Solutions is seeking a Compute L2 Infrastructure / Server Engineer to manage HPE server infrastructure, firmware upgrades, virtualization, and storage. You will provide end-to-end customer support for incidents and service requests.

Experience with HPE ProLiant/Apollo, Blade systems, OneView, VMware ESXi/vCenter, and ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM is essential. Strong ITIL knowledge and cross-functional collaboration are required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with HPE ProLiant servers.
• Experience with HPE Apollo servers and Blade systems.
• Familiarity with OneView for infrastructure management.
• Firmware lifecycle management and SPP usage.
• VMware ESXi/vCenter deployment and troubleshooting.
• Storage (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions understanding.
• ITSM/ITOM knowledge, ITIL processes, and ServiceNow scripting.
• REST/SOAP integrations and MID Server/IntegrationHub is a plus.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Manage server infrastructure including firmware upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Handle virtualization, provisioning, monitoring, and problem resolution.
• Oversee storage and backups; ensure data integrity and restore readiness.
• Serve as SPOC for incidents; coordinate with internal teams and vendors.
• Administer ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM; enforce SLAs and processes.

Job Title:

Compute L2 Infrastructure / Server Engineer

Server & Hardware Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with HPE ProLiant servers
• Knowledge of HPE Apollo servers
• Experience with Blade servers
• Experience with Oneview & SuperDome /Scale-up
• Managing:
  • C7000 Enclosures (BladeSystem)
  • HPE Synergy 12000 Chassis

HPE Management & Tools

• Experience with HPE OneView for infrastructure management
• Hands-on with Server Profiling (template-based provisioning)
• Firmware lifecycle management using:
  • SPP (Service Pack for ProLiant)
• Knowledge of OS Support Matrix for compatibility validation

Firmware Upgrade & Maintenance

• Performing firmware upgrades for servers, enclosures, and components
• Planning and executing upgrades with minimal downtime
• Validating compatibility before upgrades
• Troubleshooting post-upgrade issues

Virtualization

• Experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter)
• VM provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting

Storage & Backup

• Understanding of SAN/NAS storage systems
• Experience with backup solutions and restore processes
• Monitoring backup jobs and resolving failures

ITSM & Tools

• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow
  • Hands-on experience in ServiceNow administration or development (ITSM/ITOM preferred).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB).
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting (server-side and client-side).
  • Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and use of MID Server/IntegrationHub is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good communication and documentation abilities.

  • Ticket tracking and SLA adherence

Customer Handling (End-to-End)

• Managing customer issues from start to closure
• Acting as a single point of contact (SPOC) for assigned incidents
• Providing regular updates and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Coordinating with internal teams and vendors
• Handling escalations professionally
