Job summary

Kitron, a leading EMS provider, is seeking a Component Engineer based in Chennai, India. You will support BOM management, component data across CIS and ERP systems, and coordinate with customers on approvals and changes.

Ideal candidates have a BSc in Electronics, 3 years' experience, strong English communication, and meticulous problem-solving skills to ensure PCB component integrity throughout product lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics or a closely related field (12+3 years of education).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of electronic components.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Check, verify and acquire written approval from the customer for BOM (bill of material).
• Register and maintain component information in CIS (component information system) and ERP systems by following standard rules; create cross-references between the customer and Kitron item number; prepare a component list and upload it into ERP.
• Handle PCN (Product Change Notification).
• Handle BOM changes and revisions in the ERP system (ECO - engineering change order).
• Suggest replacements for currently used components and if required initiate the tests for alternatives.
• Convey life cycle analysis (LCA) for BOM.
• Participate in projects across the organization and perform other relevant tasks delegated by management.

Kitron is currently looking for a Component Engineer, based in Chennai, India. The person in this position will be responsible for assigned products by assisting customers on component issues in all production stages and being internal support for component-related questions within all Kitron Group sites.
