Job summary

LANXESS India Nagda is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to operate the cogeneration plant (50 TPH) and the turbine with a 25 TPH boiler. You will oversee shift operations, monitor DCS and field performance, and ensure safe, efficient steam and power production.

The role requires 5–10 years in biomass-based power plant operation and a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, with BOE certification. You will supervise operators, manage maintenance, and ensure compliance with SOPs and quality

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of work experience in biomass-based power plant operation.
• BOE certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Cogen plant (50 TPH) and turbine and 25 TPH boiler in shifts safely and economically.
• Review and monitor field operation and DCS operation, providing direction to achieve steam and power production.
• Supervise Cogen field operation personnel for boiler, turbine, and auxiliary equipment to maintain parameters within prescribed limits.
• Ensure boiler and turbine run without problems. Report abnormalities immediately to take corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead mechanical maintenance/breakdown-related activities during the shift, ensure boiler water quality, and issue work permits.
• Ensure effective implementation of standard operating procedures for safe and smooth running of boiler and turbine, and coordinate closely on boiler fuel stock and consumption daily.
• Coordinate with the process plant to meet steam requirements, collect bunker coal and biomass samples for quality testing, and prepare daily and monthly operation reports of Cogen per prescribed format.
• Ensure compliance with Lexcore Directives by executing and closing all audit observations and non-conformities, planning and executing recommendations from HAZOP, and updating documentation and statutory/legal requirements.

Experience and Skills

• Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Work Experience: 5-10 years.
• Special Skills: Experience in biomass-based power plant operation (BOE certification required).
