Job summary

Speedmart invites an experienced Software Engineer to join our Core Banking IT team. The ideal candidate will lead COBOL-based applications, work with UNIX, SQL, Oracle and PL/SQL, and contribute to development, maintenance and L3 production support in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with large development and support teams, participate in SDLC and Agile processes, and use AutoSys, JIRA and ServiceNow to manage tasks and deployments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a relevant application development role.
• Strong hands-on COBOL, UNIX, and SQL experience.
• Excellent knowledge of Oracle Database and PL/SQL.
• Experience in development, maintenance and support activities.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with unit and integration testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support applications using COBOL, UNIX, and SQL.
• Perform development, maintenance, enhancement, and production support activities.
• Provide L3 support and resolve technical issues and tickets.
• Participate in all phases of the SDLC.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure application stability.
• Work with Oracle Database and PL/SQL for data management.
• Conduct unit testing and integration testing following TD D practices where applicable.
• Collaborate with teams to analyze requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in Agile processes and adapt to changing needs.
• Follow change management and coding standards, using AutoSys, JIRA, ServiceNow, and SQL Developer.

The Role:

Must - Have Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of CICS

Familiarity with AutoSys, DevOps tools, ServiceNow, JIRA, and SQL Developer.

Experience in investment banking or financial services is an added advantage.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a large development or support team.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to learn new tools and technologies and adapt to changing processes.
