Cobol Developer to join our dynamic team.

The Agile Deve Team II - Cobol Developer will be responsible for developing & maintaining the POINT Policy Administration System. The role requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies & principles, along with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. The developer will design, code, test, and support high-quality deliverables and adhere to best practices in cobol development. Key responsibilities include:

1. 5+ years experience in COBOL
2. 3+ years of working experience on IBM iSeries(AS400) environment, commands & basic understanding of databases & library hierarchy
3. Excellent understanding of CL
4. Knowledge with AS400 tools such as DBU, SEQUEL, CA2E implementer (Change Management software), ROBOT job scheduler, RDI developers software
5. Experience with MQ & FTP concepts from AS400
6. Experience working with SAFe/Agile methodology as well as utilizing Rally tool
7. Perform data analysis and provide ad-hoc reports as requested
8. Ability to document technical specifications from functional requirements
9. Experience working across teams & other development disciplines to design, develop & perform integrated unit testing
10. Responsible for troubleshooting and debugging production issues
11. Analyze and refine user requirements into technical specifications
12. Debug, test, and troubleshoot existing and new application code
13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design
14. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
15. Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing
16. Assist in the preparation and execution of test plans and test cases
17. Document development processes, code changes, and application architecture

Additional Responsibilities

Provide technical support during testing, assist in deployment, and offer post-deployment support.

Requirements

• English Proficiency: Fluent
• Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Cobol, JCL, CICS, and DB2
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices and methodologies
• Understanding of database management and data manipulation techniques

Other Critical Skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of Agile practices and principles
• Basic knowledge of auto insurance
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the team
