Job summary

Tekskills is seeking a COBOL specialist to develop and maintain COBOL-based business applications in Bengaluru. The role involves design, coding, testing, debugging, and interaction with multiple interfaces to meet business requirements.

You will participate in testing, support production issues, and assist in change control and deployments while adhering to coding standards and documentation practices. Insurance domain exposure is valued.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on COBOL experience with Micro Focus COBOL and Enterprise COBOL/ COBOL400.
• Experience in COBOL application development and maintenance, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Strong coding, testing, and technical analysis abilities; production/support experience.
• Proficiency in Windows scripting (BAT) and MS SQL Server; interaction with multiple interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain COBOL applications supporting business functions.

• Support weekend/on-call activities as needed.
• Help improve application stability and resolve recurring issues.
