Ajeenkya Dy Patil University in Pune is seeking a CNC/CAM Engineer for Production & New Product Development. The role focuses on SolidCAM CAM programming, 3/4/5-axis machining, tool room activities, and coordinating with production and design teams to implement robust machining processes.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on CAM experience, strong knowledge of CNC controllers (Siemens/FANUC), and the ability to read drawings and apply GD&T to manufacturing workflows.

Formación

• Hands-on CAM programming with SolidCAM for CNC machining and toolpath generation.
• Experience in NPD, process planning, machining trials and component development.
• Practical knowledge of tool room activities, tooling and fixtures.
• Working knowledge of Siemens and FANUC CNC controllers.
• Strong knowledge of 3/4/5-axis machining and related programming concepts.
• Practical knowledge of VMC, CNC Turning, Wire EDM and EDM machines.
• Good AutoCAD knowledge and understanding of drawing coordinates, datums and coordinate systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, understand GD&T and convert design to machining processes.
• Problem solving to troubleshoot machining issues and optimize cutting parameters.

CNC / CAM Engineer Production & New Product Development

Key Responsibilities & Required Skills

1. SolidCAM Software: Must have hands-on experience in using SolidCAM for CAM programming,

toolpath generation and CNC machining.

2. New Product Development: Experience in new product development, process planning, machining

trials and development of components.

3. Tool Room Work: Practical knowledge of tool room activities, tooling, fixtures, machining

and component development.

4. CNC Controller Knowledge: Must have working knowledge of both Siemens and FANUC CNC

controllers.

5. Axis Machining: Strong knowledge of 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis machining and related

programming concepts.

6. Machine Knowledge: Must have practical knowledge of VMC, CNC Turning, Wire Cut EDM and

EDM machines.

7. AutoCAD & Coordinate Knowledge: Must have good AutoCAD knowledge and a strong

understanding of drawing coordinates, dimensions, datums and coordinate systems.

8. Drawing & Process Understanding: Ability to read engineering drawings, understand

GD&T;/basic tolerances and convert design requirements into machining processes.

9. Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machining issues, optimize cutting parameters and

improve machining quality and productivity.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Hands-on and practical approach toward CNC machining and tool room activities.
• Ability to independently handle CAM programming and support production/development activities.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work closely with production, design and tool room teams.
