We are looking for a skilled CAD/CAM Engineer to develop accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, manufacturing programs, and technical documentation for precision components and assemblies. The successful candidate will work closely with design, production, quality, and tooling teams to convert engineering requirements into manufacturable solutions while improving quality, cycle time, and productivity.
Role & responsibilities
- Create and modify 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing layouts using CAD software.
- Develop, verify, and optimize CAM programs for CNC turning, milling, machining centres, and related equipment.
- Prepare process sheets, setup sheets, tool lists, operation sequences, and other production documents.
- Select suitable cutting tools, fixtures, machining parameters, and manufacturing methods.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, material specifications, and customer standards.
- Conduct toolpath simulation, collision checks, and program validation before releasing programs to production.
- Support prove-out, first-off inspection, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with production, quality, design, purchase, and vendors to resolve manufacturability and quality issues.
- Maintain revision control for drawings, models, CNC programs, and technical records.
- Drive improvements in cycle time, tool life, scrap reduction, process capability, and overall equipment productivity.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and applicable engineering standards.
Preferred candidate profile
- Diploma or bachelors degree in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
- 26 years of relevant experience in CAD modelling, CAM programming, CNC machining, or manufacturing engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one CAD platform such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one CAM platform such as Mastercam, NX CAM, SolidCAM, PowerMill, or Edgecam.
- Sound knowledge of CNC machining processes, cutting tools, workholding, feeds and speeds, and shop‑floor practices.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T and tolerance requirements.
- Working knowledge of common engineering materials and machining characteristics.
