Job summary

Westernacher Consulting GmbH in Bengaluru is seeking a Cloud Operations Consultant to manage AWS-based cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and reliability across SAP workloads. You will troubleshoot incidents, automate patching and compliance, and strengthen IAM security, collaborating with global teams and external vendors to keep the cloud landscape future-ready.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cloud operations.
• Strong AWS experience: EC2, networking, IAM, storage, security best practices.
• Experience SAP infrastructure on AWS: patching, backups, monitoring, and operations.
• Exposure to Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
• AWS certifications such as SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect are advantageous.

Responsibilities

With AWS at the core, you’ll work across cloud operations, automation, security, monitoring, and SAP infrastructure while collaborating with experienced global teams.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Manage and support AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational stability.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support SAP workloads hosted on AWS, including upgrades, patching, backups, migrations, and performance optimization.
• Strengthen cloud security by managing AWS IAM, enforcing least‑privilege access, and addressing stale credentials, policy drift, and over‑permissioned roles.
• Automate EC2 patching, hardening, and compliance reporting, helping improve the reliability and security of the cloud environment.
• Enhance observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana, while collaborating with SAP Basis, engineering teams, and external vendors.

Your Expertise:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in cloud operations, infrastructure support, or cloud engineering, with strong hands‑on AWS expertise.
• Solid knowledge of EC2, networking, storage, IAM, Linux/Windows administration, DNS, VPN, firewalls, backup, and security best practices.
• Experience supporting SAP infrastructure on AWS, including patching, hardening, backup, monitoring, and operational support.
• Practical experience with AWS IAM and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Exposure to Azure Entra ID, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are an added advantage.
