Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Youll design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure for enterprise clients across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This is a hands-on role involving landing zones, automation, security baselines, and day-to-day cloud operations. You will work closely with architects, application teams, and security stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy cloud infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, and identity services) on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Build and maintain landing zones, account/subscription structures, and governance guardrails.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (preferred); experience with CloudFormation or Bicep is a plus.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Implement security controls, including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and policy-as-code.
- Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions; support incident response and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Drive cloud cost optimization through tagging, budgeting, rightsizing, and reserved/savings plans.
- Support migration initiatives from on-premises environments to the cloud.
- Create runbooks, technical documentation, and design artifacts, and facilitate operational handovers.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of total IT experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on cloud experience.
- Strong expertise in either AWS or Azure, with working knowledge of the other platform.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including:
- VPC/VNet
- Subnets and routing
- DNS
- VPN / ExpressRoute / Direct Connect
- Load balancers
- Linux administration and scripting experience (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and exposure to Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
- Experience with IAM, RBAC, and secrets management tools such as Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or HashiCorp Vault.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Cloud certifications such as:
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate
- AZ-104
- AZ-305
- CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
- Exposure to GCP.
- Knowledge of FinOps tools and cost optimization practices.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Git, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills with both client-facing and internal teams.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to drive issues to resolution.
- Comfortable creating documentation and mentoring junior team members.
Education
- B.E./B.Tech, MCA, or an equivalent qualification.
