Job summary
Charles Schwab India is hiring a Senior SRE/DevOps engineer in Hyderabad to join our growing team. You will work on reliability, automation, and scalable platforms supporting production applications and cloud services.
You will collaborate across development, infrastructure, and support teams, participate in on-call rotations, and help drive incident resolution and operational excellence in a Fortune 500 setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years in software engineering, SRE, DevOps or related roles.
- 4+ years supporting production apps in large-scale environments.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, observability, and telemetry.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Troubleshooting production incidents and driving resolutions.
- Scripting or development in Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or Shell.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud-based platforms.
- Understanding SRE concepts: incident management, availability, automation.
- On-call rotations and production escalations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
- Able to collaborate across development, infra, and support teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, production operations, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related technology roles.
- 4+ years of experience supporting production applications in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, observability, and telemetry platforms.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production incidents and driving issue resolution.
- Experience with scripting or software development using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, Shell, or similar.
- Experience working with distributed systems, APIs, cloud-based platforms, or highly available applications.
- Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts including incident management, observability, automation, service availability, and operational excellence.
- Experience participating in on-call support rotations and production escalations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across development, infrastructure, and support organizations.
- 2+ years of experience in a dedicated SRE or DevOps engineering function.
- Experience implementing or supporting SLIs, SLOs, and reliability metrics.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with containerized platforms including Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Experience with observability technologies such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or similar platforms.
- Experience leading significant production incidents or operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience building automation frameworks that reduce operational toil.
- Knowledge of resiliency testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
- Financial services or highly regulated industry experience.
